Cappadocia can be explored from the Göreme Open Air Museum which houses Byzantine Orthodox churches from the IV. century until the XIII. century. Derinkuyu Underground City, which is built by the first Christians who escaped the persecution of the Roman Empire and has the title of the deepest underground city of the region, is about 55 m.
